Morgan Barnett is an artist and botanist from Portland, Oregon, currently residing in the Willamette Valley.

Her paintings are ethereal, earthy depictions of botanicals, insects, and human ephemera arranged into personal narratives, much like building a bouquet or building a dollhouse. Morgan’s work is informed by ecology and synchronicities of daily life. She studies the idea of home; the rituals of building nests and what it means to belong to, or feel separate from, an ecosystem. These pieces are created as a dialogue between the mundane and personal dream realms, using the objects depicted in each work to function as an anchor or emotional proxy. These works often explore states of rest, stillness, and life transitions.
